New Sciences Po Paris Campus

Sogelym Dixence is creating the new Sciences Po Paris campus

The "Coeur Paris" (heart of Paris) team led by Sogelym Dixence with the architects Jean-Michel Wilmotte, Moreau Kusunoki, Sasaki and Pierre Bortolussi, has just been selected by Sciences Po to redesign the Hôtel de l'Artillerie site, located in the center of the 7th arrondissement of Paris

Great names in architecture, university specialists, sustainable buidling experts and landscapers form this "dream team" that won the consultation contest launched at the beginning of 2017. The challenge is significant : the team will have to transform an old, partially protected, 17th century novitiate building into a university campus capable of adapting to the higher education fo tomorrow, while remaining loyal to the identity of the university, which will soon be celebrating its 150th anniversary. The result : understated, elegant architecture that enhances this exceptional heritage site, while designing spaces that are open to the future. The opening of the new campus is planned for the beginning ot the 2021/2022 school year.

First Stone of the "Maison des Avocats"

The First Stone of the "Maison des Avocats", located on the forecourt of the courthouse in the heart of the new judicial precinct in Porte de Clichy, was laid on Thursday, September 28, 2017.

With a surface area of 7.000 m² of office space, the "Maison des Avocats", designed by the architectural agency Renzo Piano Building Workshop, will now be the reference site for bar association services ans the CARPA (lawyer's pecuniary payment fund) and an innovative workplace for lawyers et the new courthouse.

The building will include in particular a 100-seat auditorium, an agora and many areas that will promote exchanges between the departments of the bar assocation and the lawyers of the Paris bar.

The design of the "Maison des Avocats" has to meet technical challenges due to the presence of underground works : the building has to craddle the tunnel of subway line 13 and hang over the new works carried out by the RATP to enable access to line 14. The extremity of the buidling will therefore be cantilevered over a distance of more than 25 m.

The building, which is positioned along the forecourt of the entrance to the courthouse, will offer a facade made primarily of glass, symbolizing in particular the objective of transparent justice for citizens going into the courthouse.
